Arami—which means “little piece of sky” in Guaraní—is a restaurant founded in 2024 by chef Marsia Taha Mohamed and sociologist/sommelier Andrea Moscoso Weise. Inspired by Amazonian products, the project aims to build a bridge between the Bolivian Amazon and Andes, highlighting how these regions, though distinct, are deeply connected.
Marsia, trained in Bolivia and Spain, worked in renowned restaurants in Spain and Denmark. In 2024, she was named Latin America’s Best Female Chef by 50 Best and has spent over a decade researching the ingredients, knowledge, and techniques of the Bolivian Amazon. This expertise is reflected in a signature cuisine that combines innovation with deep cultural roots. Andrea, on the other hand, has brought together her careers to specialize in identity, gastronomy, and restaurant development. As a sommelier, she connects that identity with the unique heritage and typicity of Bolivian wine and the development of the restaurant’s Amazonian liquid world.
Located in the Achumani neighborhood of La Paz, Arami offers a casual fine dining experience based on Bolivian ingredients, with a seasonal menu and service that tells the story behind each product’s origin and journey.
From the Andes to the Amazon… from the Amazon to the Andes.
Just as our mountains feed the rivers that give life to the Amazon basin, the Amazon, in turn, nourishes the culture and gastronomy of the Andes.
Biodiversity, memory, and territory are expressed at the table.
We create a bridge and nexus space; cultural and gastronomic between the Andes and the Amazon. that can show the world the Amazonian face, its people and traditions; and how these complement our Andean culture.
